21st March, 2013

Scott McLachlan (a Pompey Supports Trust board member) is looking to complete his aim of walking to all 92 Premier League and Football League clubs in one very long walk. Scott is attempting to raise at least £92k for the charity Prostate Cancer UK during the 7-8 months it will take him to Walk the near 2500 miles around the country. You can see more details on www.walkthe92.com.uk.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, killing more than 10,000 in the UK every year. It’s so important that all men know about the disease, which is why are delighted to play our part in getting the message out there as far and wide as possible – throughout the football community and beyond.

The journey began in Portsmouth on Sunday August 19th and will finishing at Brighton in April 2013. The support he has received so far from football clubs accross the country has been fantastic. He has had the opportunity to talk to staff, players, managers and chairmen, and even got spent some time with Sir Bobby Charlton at Old Trafford.

Scott said: “I am thrilled to support The Football League’s Official Charity Partner, Prostate Cancer UK, by undertaking this challenge. Along the way I’ve had the support of my family and friends and have experienced overwhelming support from football fans across the country. With the disease predicted to be the most common cancer in the UK by 2030, its important that we raise awareness of the issues and raise essential funds for prostate cancer research.”

Please look out for him at the Birmingham game as he makes his way to Selhurst Park and give all the support you can for this great cause!
